Leyton Orient FC

Leyton Orient is an English professional football club based in Leyton, in Waltham Forest, East London. Commonly referred to as The O’s or Orient, the club was founded in 1881 as Eagle Cricket Club. Orient’s home stadium is Brisbane Road (officially the Matchroom Stadium), which seats just under 9,300 fans. In 1995, the club was famously sold for the sum of five pounds by Tony Wood after his coffee-growing business was destroyed in the Rwandan Genocide and Civil War. The club was sold to Barry Hearn, founder and chairman of Matchroom Sport. As of 2009, Orient plays in League One of the Football League.
