Martin O’Neill enjoyed a successful playing career, winning the European Cup with Nottingham Forest and captaining Northern Ireland in the 1982 World Cup. His managerial career had humble beginnings at non-league side Grantham Town. He quickly climbed up the leagues being appointed as Norwich City manager in 1995. He resigned after 6 months and became Leicester manager where he really earned renown. His team won promotion to the Premier League that season and the four seasons following that he never finished outside of the top 10 in the Premier League. On top of this he won two League Cups, making him a legend at the club. He then moved to Celtic and in the next five years, while Leicester fell away, he won 7 major trophies, including 3 league titles. After a year out of the game he joined Aston Villa.
