José Bosingwa (full name José Bosingwa da Silva) is a Portuguese football player who plays for the Portuguese national football team. As of July 2009, Bosingwa plays for Chelsea FC where he is nicknamed ‘The Machine’ by Chelsea fans. Bosingwa moved to Chelsea in May 2008 from FC Porto, where he had played under future Chelsea manager José Mourinho. Born in Zaire (now the Democratic Republic of Congo) to a Portuguese father and a Congolese mother in 1982, Bosingwa moved to Portugal at a young age and played on a few teams before moving to Porto in 2003.
