Ricardo Izecson dos Santos Leite, aka Kaka, is a Brazilian footballer. Born in Brasilia in 1982 he made his club debut for Sao Paulo aged 15.
A call-up to the Brazilian national team for the 2002 World Cup followed, where he earned a winners medal.
Kaka subsequently moved AC Milan and featured in the 2004/05 Champions League final when the Italians lost to Liverpool on penalties. Two years later he played a key part when Milan this time won the European title. In the same year he was named both the Seria A footballer of the year and the FIFA World Player of the year, and he also won the Ballon D’or in 2008.
Kaka came close to singing for Manchester City during the 2009 January transfer window, but then joined Real Madrid for £56 million in June of the same year. Giles Lucas
