Aaron Lennon is an English professional footballer born in 1987 who currently plays for Tottenham Hotspur. He began his career at Leeds United where he became the youngest player to appear in the Premier League, at the age of 16 years and 129 days. He moved to Tottenham Hotspur in 2005 for £1 million and made his debut against Chelsea FC in August. He was nominated for the PFA Young Player of the Year Award in his first 3 seasons at the club, although he never went on to win it. Lennon was named in the 2006 World Cup squad, despite being uncapped at senior level, and made his debut in a victory over Jamaica in June. He featured in 2 games during the World Cup, acting as a back-up to David Beckham. Lennon looks to have solidified his first team position after playing against Slovenia in a friendly and then Croatia in a World Cup qualifier in which he was man of the match.
