Owen Coyle is a Scottish born former Irish international. He played football for numerous Scottish teams as well as for Bolton Wanderers. After retirement he spent two years managing Falkirk and another two at St. Johnstone. At St. Johnstone he achieved measured success in the Scottish First Division, missing out on promotion in the last game of the season. He also led the team to semi-finals of the Scottish Cup and League Cup. Owen Coyle moved to Burnley in 2007 and won promotion into the Premier League via the Championship play-offs, as well as knocking Chelsea and Arsenal out of the League Cup. He has since become a legend amongst Burnley fans a status that was elevated by Burnley's win over Manchester United in the Premier League in 2009.
