Gary Megson had a playing career which took him to nine different clubs. His management career began in a caretaker role at Norwich City for the last 5 games of 1994/5 season. Following this he had a period as assistant to Chris Kamara at Bradford City and then returned to replace Martin O'Neill at Norwich for 6 months. He then moved from Blackpool to Stockport to Stoke where he enjoyed great success before being fired due to a change of ownership. Megson then moved to West Brom where he avoided relegation and then led them to promotion the following season. The club could not survive in the Premier League but bounced straight back up after their relegation. He then left West Brom and had a short spell at Nottingham Forest
and then Leicester. He joined Bolton in 2007 where he led them to 16th place and the last 16 of the UEFA Cup. In 2009 under his leadership Bolton finished 13th.
