Sarah Brown is the wife of Prime Minister Gordon Brown, after marrying him in August 2000. Born Sarah Macaulay, she first spoke to Gordon Brown in 1994 whilst on a flight to Scotland for the 1994 Scottish Labour Party conference, and the pair soon began to become romantically involved. Their relationship remained a secret to the public until photographs of them together at a restaurant appeared in the News of the World in 1997. Married on 2000, the couple had their first child, Jennifer Jane in 2001, who was born prematurely and died 10 days after her birth. Since then, Mrs. Brown has had two children, boys John, and James Fraser (born in 2003 and 2006). In 2006, James Fraser was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis.
