West Ham United is an English professional football club based in Upton Park, Newham, East London. Known also by their nickname ‘The Hammers’, West Ham was founded in 1895 as Thames Ironworks FC, but in 1900 became West Ham United. West Ham’s home stadium is the Boleyn Ground Stadium at Upton Park which seats 35,300 fans. West Ham is known for its intensely loyal and dedicated fanbase – fans are famous for their singing and chanting at matches.
