Manchester United FC

Manchester United is an English professional football club based in Trafford, Greater Manchester. Known also by their nickname ‘The Red Devils’, or better known by the abbreviation ‘Man U’, Manchester United was founded in 1878 as Newton Heath L&YR FC. Manchester United's home stadium is Old Trafford which seats 76,200 fans, making it the third largest stadium in the UK. Manchester United are among the most successful clubs in English football history, holding the most English league titles (18) and the most FA Cup wins (11). As of January 2009, Man U is the most valuable sports team in the world, with a worth of over £895million. In 1999, Manchester United won the ‘continental’ Treble (Premier League, European Cup and the FA Cup) in one season.
