A 24-carat line-up takes to the stage for The Secret Policeman's Ball, the if.comeddies awards season continues and comedy package tour Edinburgh & Beyond has quality running through it...

The Secret Policeman's Ball
Royal Albert Hall, SW7
No room for comment, but the 24-carat line-up for this charity gig speaks for itself. Eddie Izzard introduces Jennifer Saunders, Russell Brand, The Mighty Boosh, Omid Djalili, Dylan Moran, Tamsin "Green Wing" Greig, plus many more. Look out for US comedy legend Chevy Chase and controversial stand-up Sarah Silverman. Music from the Gorillaz characters, The Zutons and The Magic Numbers, plus Sir Ian McKellen and Richard E Grant. If you can't get tickets Picturehouse cinemas are doing live simulcasts and an edited version will be shown soon on C4. (020 7598 8212). Sat 14 Oct, 7.30pm. www.picturehouses.co.uk

Mark Watson/Paul Sinha
Garrick Theatre, W1
The if.comeddies awards season continues with a strong double-header. The Welsh-accented but English Watson rattles through his pet peeves in I'm Worried I'm Starting To Hate Almost Everyone In The World while Sinha explores what it is to be a football-loving, non-camp homosexual. These shows are more similar than they superficially seem ) both are confident, fast-paced and combine wisdom with searing wit. (0870 890 1104). Fri 13-Sat 14 Oct, 8pm.

Edinburgh & Beyond
New Players Theatre, WC2
Comedy package tours can be mixed bags, but this one has quality running through it. Chris Addison will be familiar to fans of political satire The Thick Of It and is one of the best comperes in the business. Loveable freeform storyteller Russell Howard picked up an if.comeddies award this summer and is destined for major greatness. Marek Larwood and Steve Hall are two-thirds of sketch group We Are Klang and specialise in surreal lunacy and deadpan lunacy respectively. (08700 332626). Sat 14 Oct, 8pm.

Russell Peters
Hammersmith Apollo, W6
You could call Russell Peters the Arctic Monkey of standup. Like the Sheffield band this comedian, who was born in Canada to Anglo-Indian parents, has built up a global following via fans who have been sending clips of his act around cyberspace. As a result this gig is virtually sold out. Peters is worth the hype too. His style is traditional but he is scalpel sharp and bang up-to-date when it comes to gags about racism ) see for yourself at www.russellpeters.com (0870 606 3400). Sun 15 Oct, 7pm.
