Virtual opera: music fans will be able to enjoy La Boheme through their laptops

A virtual night at the opera

The English National Opera has joined forces with Sony to give music fans a virtual behind-the-scenes seat for its production of La Bohëme.

In the run-up to the premiere at the Coliseum, St Martin's Lane, on 22 February, a website will let visitors see high-definition films from the ENO creative team and watch the production being prepared.

Users will even be able to upload recordings of themselves singing and be judged by the staff of the ENO.

John Berry, the ENO's artistic director, said the website collaboration with Sony "highlights the company's commitment to reaching out to new audiences and developing different strands of work with new creative partners".
