Alternative tickets if Piper fails to show

Theatre-goers booking to see Treats have been told they will get replacement tickets if Billie Piper fails to appear.

Ill-health has already forced her to pull out of two preview performances and the opening was delayed for a week.

A Garrick Theatre spokeswoman said: "If for any reason Billie is unable to make it on stage again, and anyone had come to see her in particular and was unhappy, we would offer them tickets for another performance."

Piper, 24, was well enough to make her official debut last night, watched by actor James Fox. He was full of praise for her performance, saying it was "very moving" but refused to comment on reports that his son Laurence, who is also in the production, was planning to marry Piper.
