Christian Slater, Sheila Hancock, Samuel West and Olivia Williams complete the list of presenters for tomorrow's Evening Standard Theatre Awards.

The stars will be helping hand out the honours at the lunchtime ceremony compered by Richard Wilson at the Savoy Hotel.

Hollywood actor Slater, back in London with the play Swimming With Sharks, will present the award for best design. The contenders are Felix Barrett and Punchdrunk for The Masque Of The Red Death, Robin Don for The Emperor Jones, Rae Smith and the Handspring Puppet Company for War Horse and Anthony Ward for Macbeth.

Hancock, who won an Olivier for her appearance in the musical Cabaret, presents the award for best musical, newly named after the late broadcaster and director Ned Sherrin. In a shortlist widely divergent in scale, the West End shows Fiddler On The Roof and Hairspray will contend for victory with Parade at the Donmar.

Actor/director Samuel West, whose Menier Chocolate Factory production of Dealer's Choice is about to transfer to the West End, will announce best actress. Nominees are Anne-Marie Duff, Billie Piper, Penelope Wilton and the actress known only as Portia from the Young Vic's The Member Of The Wedding.

Olivia Williams, who returns to the National in a new play, Happy Now? in January, will present the Milton Shulman award for outstanding newcomer. The shortlist is Amanda Hale, in The Glass Menagerie, Matt Smith, for That Face at the Royal Court Upstairs, and Stephen Wight, for his performance in West's Dealer's Choice as well as Don Juan In Soho.

The full list of winners will appear in later editions of Tuesday's Standard.
