We Will Rock You ... again: Queen plan a sequel to their hit musical

Queen plan musical sequel

Queen guitarist Brian May has revealed a sequel to the musical We Will Rock You will be brought to the stage.

He said today the second musical was in its "planning" stage. Speaking just before he took up his role as Chancellor of Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) at a ceremony today, he said of We Will Rock You: "I think about two million people have seen it. I can't believe it
that whenever I go in (to the theatre) the place is full.

"We are planning the sequel. It is a real challenge."

May also spoke about the new Queen tour set for later this year. He said: "The long arm of Queen has pulled me back in at the moment. It is a beast. We've pressed the button to go on tour this autumn so already the preparations are very consuming. We are finishing an album. We've chosen our set, we've chosen our environment on tour.

"It is very exciting, very exciting indeed. Very time consuming but Queen always was consuming."

May also joked that the tour would be his "farewell tour". We Will Rock You first opened at London's Dominion Theatre in May 2002. Productions of Ben Elton's hit show, based on the songs of Queen, have opened in countries including Australia, Spain, Russia, the US, Japan and Germany.

Oh no! Does this mean that this Queen tour will be the last one ever? Oh no! I cant get tickets.. m only 15 and my dad says that they're too much money (we couldn't get them straight from the O2 because they'd already sold out). I don't know what I'll do if this is the last chance to see them live and I miss out! Queen are my favourite.
