Superbly acted and cleverly structured with an unexpected turn at the end, like all good murder mysteries, and without an actual murder!
The New Orleans setting provided an interesting backdrop. We hear about America all the time but it's not often we get an insight into Louisiana on the stage here in London. There may have been a few local allusions that might be obscure to outsiders like me but I didn't notice them. In fact I thought the ironic handling of local political issues was very skillful but perhaps that isn't quite so surprising when one learns that James Farwell is a political consultant. What he has done though is to translate that skill into the very different requirements of a successful stage play.

While in London, I could not resist attending a play acted by local actors set in my own city. What a smashing success! I thought of Nick and Nora in the Big Easy. The acting was superb along with characters who are clearly having a wonderful time on stage. The energy was contagious and smiles were plentiful. What a great way to spend an evening. Cheers to the playwright, the actors, producers, and directors.

We enjoyed opening night so much we brought British friends to see it on Friday night. Murder Game is a witty show that appeals to an intellignet audience from both sides of the Atlantic -some real Tracy-Hepburn moments between the leads with great comic support from the other three. The use of political campaign ads (Farwell's day job) in the plot was most effective. I found it to be a slice of New Orleans life with universal appeal. Give it a go! You won't guess the ending and you'll leave with a smile.

Bravo James Farwell !. Your play intrigued us with politics, law, social issues, video inserts, plotting, mystery, subtle wit. We laughed, sang, and puzzled, but couldn’t guess the ending (which was great!) The cast was superb. GO if you can.

James Farwell is the Alan Ayckbourn of the New Orleans political scene. A slick, fast-moving, hugely entertaining play with some very snappy dialogue and not a single dull moment. The perfect antidote to current gloom. Anyone who has ever been married/divorced -or been a political candidate- will be very amused indeed. A very accomplished first play delivered in great style.

cannot imagine more fun in so short a time. Farwell knows his stuff, and the sophisticated viewer will appreciate the clever use of American political satire, the mixture of live and mixed media theatre, and the generally high standard of acting, all presented in an intimate theatre setting backed up to a comfy pub! worth the journey up to Islington....

The walls of the intimate King's Head Theatre, I believe, actually shook from the audience's laughter. Playwright Farwell scored with an incredible cast who captured the intrigue, romance and politics of the plot. Don't miss it!

enjoyed the quick Louisiana style wit. Play was very amusing and the rest of the audience seemed to agree. A very pleasant evening out.

Very funny - audience laughed a lot. Political satire from a leading US political campaign manager - the ads are hooeyfyingly real - mixed with sharp one liners and convincing acting in a great little theatre. Good beer too.

What a great play - not a dull moment, and the eventual outcome of the plot was unguessable. The cast did great justice to dialogue and their timing was right on the mark.
If I was still in London I would take all of my family.

Wonderfully witty play and enjoyable evening! Appeals to a wide audience. Praed and Gabrielle are reminiscent of the chemistry between Hepburn and Tracy. Politican campaign ads on the wide screen television on the set were a terrific addition to the play. Would see it again and highly recommend.

James Farwell's play was extremely funny and the audience loved it. The writing is sophisticated and full of wit. Michael Praed and Josefina Gabrielle exuded charm; and the rest of the cast was most amusing. The play is good fun. I highly recommend it.
